Hey,
Bowen family! Just wanted to let you guys know that you are frequently

Emma says hi to Eli - she really enjoyed getting to play with him at the
Emersons a couple of weeks ago! I was looking through some of Whit's
outgrown clothes earlier today and guess what I found? Her flower girl

Found the
link to your page from Alethea's. It is obvious you are amazing people.
Thank you for sharing the stories of others -- our family prayer list of
kids at St. Jude's is growing. This morning while in church I found a
passage I had underlined and claimed during a difficult time in my life
and it became my prayer for each of the little ones at St. Jude's as
well as Karley. Duet. 33:26-27 --"There is no one like the God of
Israel. He rides across the heanvens to help you, across the skies in
majestic splendor. The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting
arms are under you. He thrust out the enemy (cancer/tumor) before you;
it is he who cires, "Destroy them (it)!" Praying tonight that you may
feel his arms under you and that the Lord will use his miraculous power
to "destroy it!"

I just
read the list of chemos and other drugs that is part of Ben's treatment
regimen. Except for the mafosfamide and the pain management meds, Max
(my son) has taken all of them, but not all at once like your precious
Ben. Max has even has a reservoir similar to Ben's (Wickham reservoir),
but it is to access a cyst in his brain that had previously been
drained. Cyclophosphamide was by far the most effective of all the
chemos Max had. It is a very powerful drug, and I pray every day that
Ben's tumor responds to it quickly and completely. I know the side
effects are difficult to watch him endure. I remember trying to get Max
to force fluids (on top of his IV), but it's hard to reason with a 2 1/2
yr old in those situations. I am so thankful you have been able to
communicate with other families in your situation. They understand your
circumstance as no one else can. Besides praying for Ben's healing and
comfort, I pray for your continued strength and comfort, as well as
those families whose lives have intersected with you

Tom, Eli and Ben, I just saw Ben's website for the first time. You can
imagine there were no dry eyes here! There is no way to fathom what you
have been and are going through right now, but I am amazed at how
graciously you are doing it. God is using you and your family in an
amazingly powerful way. It's impossible to know how many people have
been touched and shown the power and love of Christ through your family.

Jennifer, Eli & Ben, finally I am able to write. I have also been
catching up on all that has and is going on with you guys using Megan's
computer here in SC. I have been unable to do anything on my computer
back home for almost a month now due to a virus. I want you to know that
all of you are in my daily prayers. I pray for your individual needs as
well as your family needs. I want to wish you Jennifer a belated Happy
Birthday and also a belated Happy Mother's Day, and to both of you a
belated Happy Anniversary. Megan and I were looking at pictures on my
camera and I came across the pictures of Eli and Tom at Collin's
birthday party. Collin was so happy to see and play with Eli. What a
huge sacrifice both of you made to make Collin's birthday extra special!
You both continue to give and give, even while going through what I
would consider to be the greatest trial ever, and I know God is going to
fill your cup till it overflows. Lord Jesus, I pray that Ben's little
tummy begins to feel better and I pray dear father

Dear Father for the strength, rest, hope & peace that is found only in
You. I pray Dear Jesus for healing upon Ben's precious little body. Tom,
Jennifer, Eli & Ben, I love you all. And guys, I apologize for not
checking the spelling in my previous message and Tom's name being
incorrect. However, to my defense, it is 2:30 am and I should have been
in bed a long time ago since Megan and I are leaving earling this
morning to drive to Hilton Head to meet up with Memaw, Poppie, Laura,
Eric, Collin and Erica. Now I know I difinitely will not be getting much
sleep this week since Collin likes to wake up with the roosters and then
scream for everyone else to wake up. I will write again soon. I hope
everything is spelled OK this time.

My aunt
(my mom's only sibling) is in the last stages of bone cancer and I know
how hard times can seem with a loved one in such a situation. However
the love and strength of family and friends has gotten us through
everything and only made us stronger. I just learned of your story today
and hope that you know that people from all over are with you in spirit
and are keeping you in their thoughts and prayers. A woman in my office
is a survivor of bone cancer and she is living proof that none of us
should ever give up hope. Keep your chins up...God is on your side.
