Friends,
what can I say? Your last update was heartwrenching. Don't lose sight of
who is in control. During my visit with you at Cincinnati Children's
Hospital, I saw only a glimpse of what you're seeing now...so many sick
children. And it does leave one to wonder...WHY? Tom you personally have
seen so much--through your experiences as a volunteer firefighter, 9/11
and now this, which if probably by far the most difficult. The Lord is
leading you through all this for a particular reason. You come out of
these experiences with a message. I know there is a sense of isolation
that you all are feeling...it is such a rare cancer. Though your
particular experience is rare you are not alone. The Lord is with you
and the Thomases stand by your side--along with many others! We love you
and pray for you without ceasing.

just read the update...Just by being able to set down and put into words
your experiences throughout the day, you have shown one of the true
gifts that God has given you! The gift to be able to encourage others in
their time of need and to be able to "see" their needs and "hurts", even
while you are hurting! You are truly a special person and God has truly
blessed you! I count it a privilege and am proud to call you my friend!

I just
don't even know what to say after reading your update. It brought me to
tears and really tugged at my heart. Your faith is amazing. Your
strength is unreal. Tom, I always remember you being so compassionate
over little things so I know that you are so encouraging to others over
these unexplainable situations. God has given you a true gift. We don't
know why things happen, but I know that through this you have brought
others closer to God. That is AWESOME!! Keep believing and I will keep
believing with you! Love and prayers.

it was so good to see you at church on Sunday. Eli, I hope the paper cut
on your ear is better. We are praying that Ben will be eatter better
very soon and that his counts will stay up and that infection will not
even be anywhere near his body-God is ABLE! Through trials in my own
life, I have always been amazed how God is able to allow us to focus on
the needs of others and how he puts us in the paths of others who have
had or are going through the same trials and struggles that we are
facing. I know the you all are touching lives and I'm thankful that your
lives are being touched as deeply. I know he is keeping His arms wrapped

I read
your update yesterday morning and was deeply moved by it. I wanted to
respond, but I was not sure how. The Lord never blessed us with children
so how can I say that I feel for you? I do not know what it is like to
have the joy of holding my baby and then the next month be faced with
life and death decisions. How can I pray for you without saying some
cliques? I am grateful that we serve a Triune God that has the Holy
Spirit as a Comforter. So I confess my inadequacy to Him in how to pray
for fellow believers in need. And I ask Him in His infinite knowledge to
know your deepest need and comfort you as only He can. Then I am at awe
of Him because I know He can. I believe too.

Jennifer, Thank you so much for making this website available to us. I
was so moved yesterday by your entry. I found myself thinking about it
throughout the day and tearing up each time I thought about it. Through
reading about your struggles I have found I go home each evening and hug
each of the children a little tighter. I take the time to actually
listen to what each one has going on in their lives and what is
important to them. I also find that I am more patient now with my
children than what I was a few months ago. How can I ever thank you for
that? We pray for you daily and we are continually amazed at how great
your faith is. Shirley wants me to tell you that she too is praying for
you guys. She finds it difficult now to get on the website, because her
baby (due in two weeks!!!!!!!)has some health problems, but she does
want you to know she is thinking of you guys. Thanks for being a great
source of inspiration !We love you!!!

I have
written before when you first went to St Jude's, I am with YFC here in
Wichita. My family has experienced a child with cancer also. Our
precious son was diagnosed with leukemia years ago but I still remember
so many of the feelings you are experiencing like it was yesterday.
Please know that I REALLY understand and know how to pray for all of
you. I appreciate the updates so I can keep my prayers current. God

Ben, it
has been a blessing to me just being one of the many nurses here at St.
Jude to care for you. I am a witness that God is a Healer and I am
believing God for a miraculous healing for you. Jerimiah 32:27 states:
"Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard
for Me?" Ben, there's nothing too hard for God. If God can't do it, it

YEAH FOR
HANNA!!!! That is wonderful news. I will continue praying for
Ben,Hanna,& Taylor. I can't think of these little ones w/o coming to
tears. My little girl(3 years old) has been having some complications
and had to have a simple, quick test that caused slight discomfort for
her and I had to fight back tears watching her lay there. We are hoping
these meds work so she won't have to undergo more invasive tests and
bloodwork. I am truley amazed at how stronge you and Jennifer are for
Ben AND Eli. I give LOTS of credit to your relationship with God for
heping you cope and be there for your children. While I was watching my
daughter getting this test I thought about Ben and the many horrific
tests that you have to watch him go through. Not only are you there for
Ben, but for many other children and their families. God is definatley
working through you and with you.

Hannah! God is good! I have been praying for Hannah and her family ever
since you encouraged us to do so. I thank you guys and the Lord for
helping me become more compassionate towards others. I have been here
for you from day one (and even before)---but how hard was that, we are
dear friends. Thank you for the gift of taking me outside of my box and
showing me that I am not very good at expressing my compassion towards
others outside of my closest contacts. I have been consumed with ME and
MY LIFE and MY NEEDS. I have since been extending my prayers for others
and actually going beyond that by DEMONSTRATING to them this compassion.
I thank the Lord for all the wonderful hidden opportunities in this
battle and for all the lives that will be touched. How right you are

Hey Guys!
Just wanting to let you know you're always in my thoughts and prayers,
and I am in awe with your undeniable strength and faith. Just this
evening, we had a "major" event, as our almost 3 year-old Logan got a
splinter in his foot. It was quite a tramatic experience for all of us
as we tried to remove it. I was holding him, Steve was controlling the
tweezers, and Logan was crying huge tears and squirming about....in the
midst of this, as I'm comforting him, I think of you. My little guy
seemed so pitiful at the time....scared, hurting, wanting mommy to make
the boo-boo go away. I sat back emotionally exhausted after the ordeal,
and thought.... it was only a splinter. You never cease to amaze me with
your strength and compassion. I'll continue to pray for you as you
comfort and console Ben in his time of need. I'm sending a big hug to
you Jennifer! : )
