Jennifer, Happy Mother's Day! I saw Susan at the mall today and we
talked about you...were your ears burning? I just want to remind you
that I am praying...so many are. I know it feels like the world goes on
and people don't really think about what you are going through, but I am
thankful that no matter who else knows or doesn't, our Father does. As
well, Jesus intercedes on our behalf constantly! Know you are loved!

you'll get the whole thing :-) First let me wish you a Happy Mother's
Day. I also wanted to let you know that I was brought to tears when Tom
and Eli showed up at Collin's birthday party yesterday. It was so nice
to see them! Okay, I'll try this again. God is good all the time...all
the time, God is good. Through the darkest time his light will shine.
When the going gets tough, what really matters is not what happens TO us
but what happens IN us, because what happens IN us will surely come out.
And when it does, it reveals who we REALLY are. Tough times will make us
bitter or better. I know several people who have gone through bad times
who have felt closer to God at those very times. I know others who have
gone through similar trials and distance themselves from or become angry
at God. What was the difference? Attitude. Of all people in the Old
Testament, Joseph had one of the best attitudes.

continued...His brothers sold him, his bosses wife framed him and he was
thrown into prison. Yet through it all he kept an attitude that was
pleasing to God. He knew that God had a plan. He didn't know the whole
plan, but as he stayed faithful each day, God rewarded him for his
faithfulness. You are definitely experiencing bad times right now but
God is with you through the midst of it all. He wants you to depend on
him and he wants you to take on his attitude. I know there will be time
when you don't even know how to pray you might want to lift up this
praise unto Our Lord--when I heard this song I was reminded of God's
promises to us to never leave us or forsake us--he is our protector and
comforter. "You are God when we fall, and God when we stand. You are a
God that holds us in your hand". Give the boys a hug and kiss (I tried
to get my hands on Eli yesterday but he wouldn't stay in one place long
enough). Keep working on GiGi...Ben may beat Erica at saying it. Love

Nice to
know the rest of the story, huh? GiGi left us hanging last time.
Jennifer, I was so moved to tears yesterday when I saw little Eli
running across the parking lot with Tom in tow. Literally. I picked Eli
up and couldn't even speak to him because of the knot in my throat.
Words cannot express how much that meant! Honestly. Collin was thrilled
and while his little mind can't grasp the magnitude of that gesture
right now, one day it will. Nice that God arranged for Tom to have a
helper on the flight back...that just so happened to be Eric's same
flight. God is good. I thought of you all day today. I'm sure you were
doing what us mothers do best...comforting, nurturing, loving and
praying over the children that God has blessed us with. You ALWAYS have
been a terrific mother. Elijah and Benjamin are very lucky to have
you...don't you ever forget that. I love you dearly and now I must see
you and Benjamin! By the way what did you get for mothers day? :-) Laura

Jennifer,Tom,Eli and Ben. Just reading Piper's quote again "God is most
glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him". Easy in the good
times to "believe" but much harder in the tough times to believe. The
difference in a the word believe and the action of believing. I will
pray that God gives you the grace to believe and love during these
especially tough days when "Big" Ben has to be inpatient with all the
meds. I will pray for Ben's peace and the grace to go through his
treatment. Pray for Jennifer's heart to be upheld while watching her
little one go through his trials. Our Father's special love for Eli to
have understanding and His heavenly Father's love. Praying for Tom's
strength to lead his family and follow His Father's faithful guiding
Spirit.

I really
enjoyed playing with Eli. He's getting so big! Maddie loves playing with
him too! They had lots of fun playing in the yarn..... You'd be so proud
of her Jen, she is really starting to talk! Yes, I'll admit it out loud,
to everyone...I'm angry you all are not here! I'm missing so much, the
good and the not so good! My only comfort is in knowing this is God's
will for our family. The Lord isn't asking me to like it, I just have to
accept it. I guess there is comfort in knowing there is a purpose to our
"warroir's" suffering. I see the evidence of it in these postings and in
the lives of everyone this "story" touches. I accept, in this real-life
story, there will be sad days, angry days, and HAPPY days. I'll continue
to take comfort in knowing the Lord knows the ending or our story, has
great purpose in it, and knows all of our emotions. We must rely on Him.

Glad you
where able to visit WV and some friends. I am sure it boosted you up
seeing the smiling faces and having the support. Knowing Jennifer and
being a Mommy myself. I know worried doesnt even cover it. She is a
great person, loves her family more then words can say and will do
whatever it will take walk away from this nightmare as a family. My
heart goes out to her. I say a seperate prayer for her daily. Mommies
and Daddies love there kids. But it is a different love. God loves us
all as we love our kids. He will as well do what ever it takes, he will
comfort you and remind you as often as you need. Just as we do signing

Just a
little note to let your family know that we are keeping you in our daily
prayers. I said an extra prayer for you (Sunday), Jennifer, during the
Mother's Day celebration. Being a mom is such a blessing but it also
means your heart is out there, in the open....how easy it is for your
heart to feel pain when your child is in pain and how you just want your
child to be happy and hear the laughter not cries. As a parent, you just
want to make it all better. I can only imagine what you are going
thru...I feel bad when I take Dylan for his booster shots and he cries
or when he cries on a strep test...like I said, I can't imagine what all
of you are going thru. My heart goes out to you...all of you...the only
way I know to make it better for you is to keep praying and keep

To the
precious Bowens- I visit your site daily and am always gripped by the
strength and courage you continue to display. I remember trying to make
sense of my own son's diagnosis of a brain tumor 5 years ago, and 5
years later I still haven't figured anything out. I just know that Max
is who he is, and God has a special purpose for him. It is clear God has
a purpose for Ben. It is awe-inspiring to see the ripple-effect your
story has caused. Everyone who reads or hears Ben's story is touched. My
guess that there are some people who haven't prayed in a very long time
who are now praying for Ben and you. Ben's story gives each of us a
gift. Whether it be education about his type of tumor and St. Jude's or
renewing someone's relationship with Christ, you can't walk away from
this powerful story without being changed. It is my hope and prayer that
you will lean on the support offered to you. Being strong takes a lot of
energy; please allow others to share whatever burden they can. You are
