Just want
to let you know that Ben has been on the prayer list at our church,
First Baptist Church of Nitro, for some time now. I received information
on your web site and have been keeping everyone up to date on what is
going on. I am working on getting a large order for Papa John's pizza
tomorrow from my office. We hope to help in some way. Our prayers are

and Jennifer, I didn't realize the family I have been praying for was
you. Until I started reading your story on the Web page and saw your
pictures I had not put 2 and 2 together. You may not remember me from
Dr. Mike's office but I certainly remember your remarkable family. I
have thought of you several times since I left the office for full time
motherhood. May God continue to bless you with precious time with your
babies and m ay he continue to watch over you as you go through this

I am so
happy that I was able to see the whole family before you left the
hospital today. I feel privledged to take care of Ben and meet such a
wonderful family. Your strong faith is an inspiration to us all. The
first 12 hours that I met Ben, I was able to talk to Tom,(all night)and
now think of you as friends not just your nurse. If you need anything,
please let me know. I am not far from St. Jude or the Target House. I
will be praying for you all to have both rest and strength for the
upcoming treatments. Oh, I passed this website on to my family. I have

Jennifer, we are friends of the Emerson's and several other families you
know here in Huntington WV. I just dropped a note in the mail but saw
where you all read this page every evening and was led to leave a note
here as well. Our family has been praying for you throughout each day
since Mike shared your situation with our church (Christ Community). We
have a 15 year old daughter who is in her second year off of
chemotherapy and five years post cancer diagnosis -- so we can
understand a little of what you are going through and are all the more
aware of what it means to have people praying and sharing words of
encouragement. One of the things we learned very early on was to be
still and know that He is God and to take one day (one hour, one

My 5th graders and I at Covenant School pray for you daily. We start
class every morning with prayer, and ever since Ben became ill, at least
one student will have his/her hand raised to request prayer each morning

times. My child, pay attention to my words; listen closely to what I

couldn't wait :)2Kings 4:8-35...Elisha was passing through Shunem and a
prominent woman and her husband opened their home to Elisha. She
perceived that Elisha was a holy man. they made him a room in their home
so that when he passed by, he always had a place to stay. Elisha wanted
to bless her and asked what she wanted. His servant said she had no son,
so Elisha said she would embrace a son the next year. the child grew and
years later he became ill and died. His mother placed Him on Elisha's
bed. she told her husband she was going to the man of God. Elisha saw
her and sent a servant to ask her "is it well with you, your husband? Is
it well with your child" and SHE ANSWERED "IT IS WELL." now can you get
that...her child is on his bed and all is well...she came to him and
said basically, you promised me this child...I didn't even ask...but you
gave me a promise. so He went back with her. He lay on the child...put
his mouth to his mouth, his eyes on his eyes, his hands on his hands and
the child was healed.
