Bowen Family, It was so good to finally hear from you again. I looked
for you at St. Jude while we were back for a check-up in April but you
know the deal....the whole patient confidentiality thing. So I was
really hoping you would get back in touch with us. We will be back in
July, the entire week of the 19th. So I really look forward to meeting
you. Benjamin is sooooo cute!!! We are keeping you in our prayers. But I
have to say that you are at the best Hospital in my opinion. My daughter
is a survivor, thanks to St. Jude. Everyone else left us with very
little hope and we are in the heart of the cancer research
facilities.....Washington, D.C. I owe St. Jude my life!!! I will forever
be grateful for the wonderful staff and all of their efforts and
optimism. Please keep in touch with us. Much love and many hugs!

Hey guys.
Ben you looks so mature in your therapy pictures. You sure are growing.
You look like a little man. A warrior ready for battle. Before long he
will be running and giving Eli a run for his money. Glad yesterday was
better the effects of Chemo on his little growing body is heart
breaking. But needed to get rid of this nightmare. Cathy I dont know you
but THANK YOU for giving Tom and Jennifer time to celebrate there lives
together and there marriage. You are so blessed to be able to be part of
the Target House family what a big brouden lifted to know you have a
temporary home. I pray for them and thank them as well. What a great
thing to be able to do for families trying to deal with such a scary
time. I hope and pray for rest and peace for you all this weekend. Hope
you are able to enjoy the fun at the House party. Love, prayers, and

praying for Ben and for your whole family. I was diagnosed with an
astrocytom-brain tumor when I was tywelve. I'm now married and 16 years
later. I got your name from Amy Hillberg YFC, who I went to Bible
College with. God is good and we do live one day at a time, as you know.

Ben!!! Such a big "step" for you, I am so thankful to God for his
never-ending miracles. I have shared Ben's story with everyone here at
the Cancer Center and all are overwhelmed by Your undying Faith in God.
My patients are adults, yet a child is giving them strength. Continue to
believe, as will I.

Great
news to hear about ben's steps and so glad you all had a much needed day
of relaxation and with Spongebob no less. Janet came over this morning
and we got the last of the orders from the fundraiser to her house. I
want to take this time to personally THANK everyone who in any was
participated in the Avon fundraiser. It was a huge success and even
though we had a few glitches with the delivery getting to me, all in all
considering the volume(thanks to Janet for the kind words)I think it
went fairly smooth. Everyone was so generous with their support and if
there is anything else I can do to help, please let me know. Since the
first time i visited the site (over a month ago) It has held a special
place in my heart. we will all keep praying and doing whatever we can to

wanted you guys to know i miss you. sorry i haven't written much...tid
bit under the weather, but God is faithful and is increasing strength
and less dizziness thankfully. katie sends slurps (controlled) and lots
of jumps. adam, a 3 year old son of a friend heidi, i think you know
her, came over today. i think katie misses the boys. she really took to
adam and gentle too. she is soooooo spoiled (laying on the couch
snoozing as i write). love you guys.

August 8th, 2003, our beautiful little granddaughter, Paige-Hope, 22
months old was diagnosed with Wilms. She was never sick and had never
had any symptoms. We thought they were crazy. They started her on a
course of chemotherapy that was destroying her, not the tumor. The tumor
kept on growing and growing until she was being crushed from the inside
out. It got so large that she couldn't breathe. She was booked for
emergency surgery to de-bulk the tummor and at that time, they found out
it was Rhabdoid. I and many who worked in the hospital had never seen
anything like this. It was so fast and so very brutal. From the time of
her first diagnosis until her blessed death, (I say blessed because she
suffered so severely) the total time until October 3, 2003 when the
pulled all medication. 10 Weeks of brutality. I pray for your little Ben
and hope to God his outcome is better than ours. Paige-Hope was the
first case of rhabdoid kidney seen here in Canada and after being
misdiagnosed, she didn't have a prayer. I

Sounds
like the carnival was a blast. Your new friend Cathy sounds like a
defiant keeper. I am so glad Ben had more of a normal day. They are
great to hear about. I pray that there are more and come more often. It
takes all kinds of people to make up this crazy world. Unforntually rude
people are some of them. As far as Ben’s appearance. He is very much in.
Bald is in. You see bald people everywhere. The scares are his warrior
marks. All great warriors have battle scares. That is how they share
there story. Ben has a great story to tell. We all love your kids. We
pray for you all very often. Stay strong. Believing, praying and sending
the very best to you ALL.
