received an email from Jeremy Dunlap, my associate pastor at Porterfield
Baptist Church, telling me about Ben & asking for prayer. I am adding
him & his family to my prayer list & passing his name on to other prayer
warriors as well. I pray that you will be able to touch the lives of
others in a positive way through this trying time in your life. My
father suffered with a terminal illness a few years ago, & it was one of
the most bittersweet times in my life. Bitter because I was slowly
losing my father on a daily basis & sweet because it was a time when the

David...I was so glad to hear that you guys are still holding each other
up! It's amazing how God uses us to work in each other's lives...when I

I heard
about Ben from Emily and Jessica from what I undersatnd they were your
two of your nurses at LeBonheur. I worked full time on the neuro floor
until March when I ventured out to St. Jude. I was not there when you
received you first chemo but I am sure I will meet you soon. You web
page is wonderful and have heard from other St.Jude families that this
will help ore than any medicine we can give you. I wish you the best of

I heard
about your baby today on the news I will pray for Ben.I know that what
you are going through is not an easy thing to do. 10 months ago i lost
my sister to cancer she had to fight it for 5 years and the one thing i
learned from her is no matter what you go through in life God is always
with you never lose faith because he will never let you down, and i'm
happy to say that my sister Charlotte never lost her faith in the Lord
her last eight months of her life she was so bad that she could not talk
or move all she could do is lay in the bed everyday and wait for someone
to come and turn her, she could not say a word to us but she had a Angel
that her husband put on top of her tv and each time i would be there she
would be looking at it and talking to it, I know that God sent her an
Angel to be with her each and everyday. So no matter what tomorrow may
bring never lose your faith in our God trust him he knows what he is
doing he will guide you each step of the way. I will keep you and your
family in my prayers may God bless you

I have
been following Ben's story since the beginning, but have not commented
because doing so seemed so inadequate. What a trooper Ben is! And his
family is equally heroic in these demanding, gut-wrenching
circumstances. As you well know, none of us know what strengths reside
within us until we are tried by fire; it seems that all of you have met
whatever adversity that may be thrown you way facing forward and with
great faith. As for me, I'm betting on faith, steadfastness and miracles
to prevail in the end. In the 1970's I worked with a former student at
Novamont Corp. whose infant son was stricken with leukemia at a time
when there were no magic treatments. We all thought the worst was
imminent and prayed for Chris' parents who spent their lives living in a
car in the parking lot of a hospital in Clarksburg. I was later to have
the pleasure of being one of Chris' high school teachers. He is nearly
30 now and is a pro golf instructor in Florida (he and his family were
befriended by and became friends of the late Payne

Tom,Jennifer, Eli and Ben, I have been thinking of you each day and
holding you up in prayer. I am so grateful that our Abba Father knows
what you need when I don't. I want to share this verse with you as you
have walked with me down rough roads as well. It was life and breath to
me during my experience last year..Isaiah 42:16 "I will lead the blind
by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I
will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places
smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them (I WILL
NOT forsake Tom or Jennifer or Eli or Ben)! Emily, Lydia, and I find it
a great priviledge to present you to our Father each day. What a
testimony of power and grace to our sweet children as they see the hand

Jennifer, Marc (husband) saw the segment on Ben this morning on the
news. Needless-to-say, we were shocked and upset to hear about Ben and
your family. The last time we saw you at Target, I was pregnant and
Jennifer had noticed something wrong with his eye. I prayed for him
about it. I haven't heard anything. What ever happened? I am now
expecting my second baby. Marc is not saved and hearing about your faith
and encouragement from God is incredible. I am truly blessed and pray
for your strength, Ben's wellness, and Eli's too. I will keep you in my
prayers. I know you two are very busy, so don't worry about responding.

I have
never met you, or any of your family. I first heard of you only days
after the problems with Ben began. I was in Sunday school and my
teacher, Phill Lucas asked for us to keep Ben, and his family in our
prayers. He gives us weekly updates. Since that time, I have heard the
entire town talking about Ben, and his family. Even before Ben's story
was on the news or in the paper, Ben's story was being
told...everywhere. I don't think it was just because it is such a
terrible thing you are going through, but because of the wonderful works
your family has done for others. I just wanted you all to know how much
people think of you. I go to buy a card at the mall and people are
telling me stories about how you helped them and others,just to turn
around and have your own child fighting such a battle. God must be very
proud to see such strong servents working for him. I know he loves you
all very much and embraces each of you. You are all very close at heart
to so many people. I am praying for each of you, especially Ben. I can't

I am so
terribly sorry for this misfortune. I have a grandson 3 and a
granddaughter 1. I cannot even begin to feel or understand your pain
since they are healthy, however, my pain for you and Ben are enormous.
Please know that you are all in our prayers. Believe in miracles!
